Manas National Park famous for the Majestic Tigers is the one of the two Project Tiger in Assam. The Manas Reserve, located in the foothills of the Bhutan hills covers over 391-sq kms.The Manas River flow through the Park is most suitable for water buffalo habitat which in turn is best for Tigers.Its wet grasslands are the home of the rhino, water buffalo, elephant and tiger,Hog Deer,Hispid Hare, Pigmy Hog,golden langur,capped langur,many species of birds.
Manas was declared a sanctuary on October 01, 1928 and was designated a World Heritage site in December 1985.
